Pre Authorization

Allows merchants to obtain Pre-Authorisation for pre-ordered goods and services.

Level of assurance that a cardholder's card is valid, has sufficient funds and has not been reported lost or stolen

Convenience

Access to Pre-Authorisation is available to approved merchants within the Hotel, Car Rental, Cruise Line, Mail Order and Telephone Order business. Ideal for estimating transaction amounts for Authorisation such as room rates, taxes, service charge rates and other allowable charges and checking if the funds are available.

Flexibility

Pre-Authorisation is ideal for situations in which you do not wish to complete the transaction instantly.

How it works

When a purchase is made, a cardholder's card details are checked and the purchase transaction is authorized as normal but the transaction is set to a 'pre-authorized' status.
A cardholder's funds are placed on hold; the money is not debited to the merchant's account at this point.
It is, therefore, important to estimate the Pre-Authorization transaction amount accurately as the cardholder's funds will be held until final payment is processed.

Who uses this feature

This feature is restricted to merchants who operate a Hotel, Car Rental, Cruise line or Mail/Telephone order business.

Tipping

Allows the customers to add their “tip” to the sale amount as a token of appreciation for the service provided by the merchant

How it works

A Tip Transaction allows a specified tip amount to be added to a credit card purchase transaction if the tipping function has been enabled on the terminal.
Merchants must process and clear all tip transactions on the same day

Cash out

Customers may request for cash by debiting their account

Cash out can be handled with a minimum of fuss, making it a more convenient experience for your customer.

Convenience

Ideal for merchants who do not wish to have a large cash holding within the day.
The cash out funds will be available in the merchant settlement account on the next business day.

Flexibility

Ability to provide cash with or without an actual purchase.

How it works

Simply ask your Merchant Sales Consultant to enable the cash out functionality on your terminal
Once enabled select the CASH transaction type by pressing the SAV soft-function key on your terminal
